Japanese defender scores world record

In news that will make you care about J. League Division 2 football for just over 30 seconds, Fagiano Okayama defender Ryujiro Ueda scored an incredible long-range header against Yokohama FC this past weekend.

While you should spare a thought for Yokohama keeper Kentro Seki, who must be a little embarrassed to have let in a goal from over 57 metres that bounced three times, this is also bad news for Norwegian midfielder Jone Samuelsen. On Sept. 25, 2011, the Odd Grenland player proudly put away a header from just over 56 metres out. The Scandinavian's place in ridiculous goal history has lasted just over a month thanks to 23-year-old Ueda's extra metre.
Samuelsen's header isn't coming to a Guinness Book of World Records near you, but you can check it out below… 459
